Sorry Bella but I think its Bella, though I dont think she considers herself selfish. But really the whole zombie period that is a form of selfishness isnt it being so absorbed in your own wants and desires that you cant function without them? By the time she gets to the end of Eclipse, she is willing to forgo her own desires for those she loves Charlie, Renee, Edward, Jacob amp Alice. I think she has to make that change in selfishness before she can be truly happy with Edward. I also think her desires to marry him and to become a vampire need to evolve completely from something she wants for herself into something she wants not just gives into, but wants for Edwards happiness.
